I've seen this place and been curious about it for ages. Finally my curiousity caught up with me and a table for two was booked. Lamberts Restaurant, on Balham High Road, promises a fantastic 3 course mid-week menu of British cuisine for just £20 each. The reviews were checked - all labelled Lamberts the hidden gem of Balham. I was suspicious, how could such good food be so cheap, and in London?! Hmm.

This week I have mostly been obsessed with cream cheese, no kidding - it's amazing stuff! This recipe is sooooooooooo good - just purely from adding a dollop or two of the creamy goodness that is cream cheese! You can add it to ANYTHING - savoury or sweet!

Musseling In On Moules Marinieres

I never let the man cook and with good reason. He's better than me. Whatever he cooks, it's always tastier, prettier and just generally more fabulous than anything I could ever concoct. So for this reason I don't let him cook. Now some of you will be thinking "Say what?! Wouldn't you want him to cook for you every day if he's so good??" The truth is I want cooking to be my thing. I'm the one with the food blog after all! Therefore I don't want to be shown up in the kitchen! However the man does have a few dishes that I've allowed him to make in the past that are sooooo tasty that I let him cook them for me every now and then. The man's Moules Marinieres is one of those dishes. Friday night I let him cook. Moules Marinieres. Hell yeah. I had been looking forward to this ALL day....yuuuuuuum....
