Lamberts - Perfect For Any Day Of The Week...

I love eating out on Valentines' Day - I like having posh food that I wouldn't be able to cook myself and I also like being able to spend time with my husband-to-be instead of one of us having to slave over a hot stove. Many people are quite skeptical about eating out on such a day due to the fiasco of packed restaurants and overpriced set menus. However there's something to be said for a restaurant that can cope with the mania sparked by a consistently full house, the constant incoming flow of hungry couples anticipating the perfect and most romantic dinner possible. There's something even better to be said for a restaurant that produces unfailingly superior nosh and excellent service throughout all of the aforementioned madness that is Valentines' Day. This can all be said for Lamberts in Balham.

[BLOG BITES] Lunch Ideas: Minty Lamb Pittas With Lime And Coriander Dressing

I decided to get a bit more funky with my packed lunches and have been pooling all my creative juices and have come up with a few more interesting luncheon ideas, the first of which was this rather delicious minty lamb pittas with a lime and coriander dressing....

A Lovely Lunch At Launceston Place...

The quirky Launceston Place restaurant is situated in magnificent and gaspingly posh South Kensington (or SoKen for the trendies), London and its contemporary British menu seemed perfect for the birthday occasion of the day. Head chef Tristan Welch has worked hard at transforming the favourite lunching place of the late Princess Di into a modern and indeed statement dining experience. The serious winter paintings adorning the harsh charcoal walls focus diners' attentions to Welch's carefully constructed and refined menu allowing the best of British produce to shine.

Mama Selby's Unique And Yummy Version of Kedgeree

Every now and then I ask my mum to whip up some food from my childhood. Mama Selby makes the culinary classics but likes to put her own unique spin on them like her famous pizza - on a tortilla, or her pasta - with butter...Her cooking has been 'experimental' over the years but it's always been tasty and there's one particular speciality of hers that I had a craving for the last time we visited Wales and that's Mama Selby's Kedgeree.

How To Make Papa Selby's Infamous Vampire Killing Garlic Bread...

Every time The Man and I head back to the (my) Motherland that is Wales, my mum always asks beforehand if there's anything in particular we want to eat. There's always a few requests like - can you get me a packet of Welsh cakes and can you make some sort of cake and can you get that blackcurrant squash that I like. There's always one item that I don't need to mention as my mum and I have a silent understanding that I need my dad's incredible garlic bread.
